CURTIS BAY, MD—Crews are on the scene of a Thursday morning explosion in the Curtis Bay area.
The explosion occurred at around 11:30 a.m. in the 1900-block of Benhill Avenue (21226).
Emergency personnel arrived to find a five-story coal silo that suffered an apparent explosion.
The ensuing shockwave could reportedly be felt throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Hazmat teams, special rescue units, and fire boats are on the scene.
Motorists should avoid the area.
