Annual September 11 Remembrance Bell Tolling Ceremony to be held in Parkville on Saturday

PARKVILLE, MD—An annual tradition will continue in Parkville this weekend.

On Saturday, The Hope and Peace Foundation will mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with its annual bell tolling ceremony, featuring Maryland’s Rolling 9/11 Memorial.

The event will take place at 12:15 p.m. (following the Patriot Day Ride) at McAvoy’s Sports Bar and Grill.

Local firefighters and police officers will stop to remember the 345 firefighters and 72 police officers who gave their lives on 9/11.

Maryland’s Rolling 9/11 Memorial recently added three new plaques honoring those who were killed in the 1983 Beirut Marine Barracks bombing, those who were killed on the U.S.S. Cole, and 15 others who were killed during war time. The plaques will be unveiled at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

McAvoy’s is located at 2531 Putty Hill Avenue (21234).
