Fire Weather Watch issued for Baltimore area

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the Baltimore area due to low relatively humidity and gusty winds that are expected on Thursday.

The watch will be in effect for Thursday afternoon.

Forecasters say southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph are possible on Thursday afternoon with gusts up to 30 mph.  Relative humidity will be as low as 23 percent.

Critical fire weather conditions are possible on Thursday, especially from early- to mid-afternoon hours. All outdoor burning is discouraged.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
