NOTTINGHAM, MD–Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Friday morning confirmed that a private contractor is now at the site of the Belair Road water main break.

On Thursday night, the rupture forced the closure of Belair Road in both directions at Olde Forge Lane.

Route 1 remains shut down at this hour.

The break has now impacted 200 properties and three hydrants.

City and county crews worked on the rupture throughout the night.

Crews hope to have service restored by 1 p.m. on Friday.

Motorists should avoid the area.
