Showers and thunderstorms will blossom from the Deep South to the southern Appalachians on Friday while periods of rain take shape from the northern Mid-Atlantic to coastal New England during the second half of the day.

The storm is forecast to strengthen as it tracks across the Mid-Atlantic and reaches the DelMarVa coast on Saturday morning.

The rain should come to an end in the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday morning.  Some coastal flooding and beach erosion is possible.
