Baltimore County to hold public hearing on amendment to solid waste management plan

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Baltimore County Department of Public Works is proposing an amendment to the County’s Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan regarding the availability of recycling in office buildings 150,000 square feet or larger (approximately 20 in the County).

For community input, a web-based public hearing will be held in cooperation with the County Planning Board.

The hearing is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 5 p.m.; a link to the meeting will be available online.

Residents should check the above website for updates as the hearing date approaches. County representatives will be present at the hearing to accept questions and comments.

The proposed Plan amendment language is available online at baltimorecountymd.gov/solidwasteplan and from the Bureau of Solid Waste Management directly ([email protected] or 410-887-2000).

In addition to the hearing, persons may send written comments on the proposed amendment to Thomas J. Kiefer, P.E., Acting Director, Department of Public Works, 111 West Chesapeake Avenue, Suite 307, Towson, Maryland 21204.

Comments must be received within 35 days of the hearing.
