Gov. Hogan appoints two to Maryland General Assembly

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan on Monday announced that he has appointed Mike Griffith to the Maryland House of Delegates, representing Legislative District 35B, and Delegate Charles E. Sydnor III to the Maryland Senate, representing Legislative District 44B.

“I am confident that Mr. Griffith and Delegate Sydnor will represent their constituencies admirably in their new respective roles,” said Governor Hogan. “I offer them both my sincere congratulations and look forward to working with them in the upcoming legislative session.”

Mike Griffith is the chief marketing officer overseeing all business development for HPS Management in Havre de Grace. Griffith was a member of the military police for the United States Marine Corps and honorably left the service after eight years. He has served on several community boards, including Harford County’s Economic Development Advisory Board and the Maryland Building Industry Association.

Delegate Charles Sydnor is the current delegate for District 44B. He is the majority deputy whip and serves on the Judiciary Committee, and is the sub-committee chairman for Criminal Law and Procedures.
