ESSEX, MD – Motorists traveling in the Essex area should be aware of an important closure.

At just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, The Maryland State Highway Administration reported that Route 702 had been shut down at Old Eastern Avenue.

SHA said the closure was due to “police activity.”

Motorists should use an alternate route.
