Police are now investigating Friday night’s shooting in Essex as a homicide.

At about 8:15 p.m. on Friday, authorities responded to a call for shots fired in the 900 block of Ashbridge Drive (21221).

One victim, Lance Dixon, 25, was suffering from a single gunshot wound.

He was later pronounced dead.
