Crews are on the scene of a Tuesday afternoon house fire in Essex.

At about 4:30 p.m., fire personnel responded to the 900 block of Lance Avenue, 21221.

At the scene, firefighters found smoke showing from the residence and a fire on the second floor of the dwelling.

There has been no word on any injuries.

Motorists should use caution in the area.
