Rescue crews were on the scene of a serious crash in White Marsh on Monday afternoon.

At just before 2 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Perry Hall Boulevard and White Marsh Boulevard (Route 43).

Police say Route 43 is currently shut down due to the crash.

One person is said to be trapped in one of the vehicles and a rescue operation is now under way.

The extent of any injuries is unknown at this time.

Motorists should use caution in the area.
