Fire reported at Fallston movie theater

Crews are on the scene of a Tuesday morning fire in Fallston.

At about 11:45 a.m., crews from the Fallston Fire Company and the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the Horizon Cinemas located in the 2300 block of Belair Road.

There, firefighters found that a popcorn machine had caught fire.

The flames were quickly extinguished.

Crews are on the scene of a Saturday morning house fire in Joppa.

At just before 7 a.m., units responded to the 400 block of Timber Lane.

At the scene, firefighters found heavy fire showing from a two-story dwelling.

Crews are on the scene from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Fallston Fire Company, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, Abingdon Fire Company, and Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company.

There are reportedly no fire hydrants in the area. Extra water tankers have been summoned to the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this hour.

At just before 2 a.m., firefighters responded to the 100 block of Haverhill Road (21085).

At the scene, fire personnel found heavy fire showing from a duplex.

Crews from White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company, Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Abingdon Fire Company, Fallston Fire Company, Kingville Volunteer Fire Company, and Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene.

One person was taken to Hopkins Bayview in serious condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this hour.


Joppa house fire prompts road closure

At just after noon, units responded to the 1700 block of Old Joppa Road (21085).

At the scene, firefighters found smoke showing from the basement of a single-family dwelling.

Crews from Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Fallston Fire Company, Abingdon Fire Company, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, and Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company are on the scene.

Old Joppa Road has been shut down from Old Mountain Road to Jerusalem Road.

One person was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

No cause has yet been determined.

Motorists should avoid the area.
