A local fast food restaurant will soon be undergoing an overhaul.
The McDonald’s on Belair Road in Perry Hall will shut down for several months after the close of business on Wednesday.
The existing McDonald’s restaurant, built in 1980, will be replaced by a modern building with improved drive-thru lanes.
The renovation is expected to take approximately four months.
The Perry Hall employees will be temporarily relocated to the Fallston location.

The Barn in Carney may be long gone, but an exciting new venue is set to take its place.
Das BierHalle will open its doors on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
The venue will be Baltimore County’s first German bierhalle.
The new bar will feature 24 draft lines, including 12 German beers and 12 domestic & craft beers. There will also be 60 other varieties of canned & bottled beer available.
The Barn, a longtime Carney staple, closed its doors back in July.
Das BeirHalle is located at 9527 Harford Road in Carney.
A local landmark is preparing to reopen its doors.
The Double-T Diner in Perry Hall has been closed since June of last year, when plans were made to roll the diner to its new location so that a CVS store could be built at the corner of Joppa Road and Belair Road.
Now, Councilman David Marks says the diner could reopen in September.
This weekend, Councilman Marks met with co-owner John Korologos and manager Mark Elsaid,who said the Double-T Diner would likely reopen later this month.
New paint and other improvements have been made to the diner, whose move was fully funded by CVS.

An annual tradition continues, and it all starts on Friday.
On August 3, Baltimore County Executive Don Mohler will join Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce President Brent Howard, other sponsors, and participating restaurateurs to launch Baltimore County’s Summer Restaurant Week, which runs August 3 -18.
Liquid Lib’s in Timonium will host the Kick-Off.
Restaurant Week (actually 16 days) allows diners to discover new restaurants and enjoy old favorites at a discounted price. Sixty-one restaurants will feature fixed price, one to three course brunch, lunch, and dinner menus.
At the Kick-Off, chefs from 13 participating restaurants will prepare some of their menu specials for sampling. Restaurants include: The Café at Atrium Village, Cunningham’s, Glyndon Grill, Il Basilico Trattoria, Kooper’s Jacksonville, Lib’s Grill, Liquid Lib’s, The Manor Tavern, The Milton Inn, Mother’s North, Nacho Mama’s, Pappas Restaurant, and The Pointe in Towson.
Bond Distributing and Lanterna Wines will serve pairing libations.
