NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service issued a special statement on Monday night urging Baltimore area motorists to be wary of icy conditions during the overnight hours.

With temperatures dropping to near or below freezing, any residual moisture will re-freeze on untreated surfaces.

Residents should use extra caution when driving and walking on Monday night.

Assume anything that appears wet is icy.

Parts of the state will also likely see high winds on Tuesday.
