NOTTINGHAM, MD—Friday will likely be the hottest day of the year so far, according to the National Weather Service.

The high temperature on Friday will be right around 99 degrees with a heat index at or above 100.

Residents should remember to practice heat safety and stay hydrated if spending time outdoors.

Things should “cool off” a bit for Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the upper 80s.
