ESSEX, MD—Police are searching for an armed suspect in the Essex area.

At just after 1:30 p.m., authorities said they were searching for an armed individual on the area of Earhart Road (21221).

Earhart Road and Glen Curtis Road are closed between Bennett Road and Alcock Road until further notice.

Residents should avoid the area.
