ESSEX, MD—The Essex Volunteer Fire Company on Friday morning announced the passing of their oldest life member, LeRoy “Jimmy” Ogle.

Ogle was considered a pilar in the Essex community, joining the Rockaway Beach Volunteer Fire Company July 1st, 1953, thus giving him over 66 years of service.

Ogle held many positions within the volunteer fire company, most notably Secretary.

He served in the United States Navy and spent many years working for the Baltimore County Government, from which he eventually retired.

“Please keep Jimmy’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers,” Essex VFC said on Facebook.
