Towson Town Center evacuated after car strikes gas line

UPDATE 3: Units have cleared the scene and Towson Town Center is once again open for business.

UPDATE 2: Authorities say one person has been transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

TOWSON, MD—Towson Town Center was evacuated on Sunday morning due to a crash that caused a gas leak.

At just before 11:45 a.m., the Baltimore County Fire Department reported that a vehicle had struck a gas line near Macy’s.

Shortly thereafter, the fire department reported that a high-pressure has line had been struck.

The mall is now being evacuated and hazmat crews are responding to the scene.

Residents should avoid the area.
