“I truly value receiving feedback and guidance from diverse members of our community,” said Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams. “I encourage parents and teachers from across Baltimore County Public Schools to apply to serve on these advisory councils. Both councils offer unique opportunities to meet with me quarterly to discuss the school system’s challenges, progress, and opportunities.”
The members of both councils serve one-year terms and are expected to attend and participate in all meetings.
Meetings for both councils will take place at BCPS headquarters (Greenwood) located in Towson.
Fifteen parents – three from each of the school system’s five geographical areas – will be selected for the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council. To apply, a parent must have at least one child in a BCPS school.
Meetings of the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council will be held from 6 – 7 p.m. on the following Thursdays: November 14, 2019, and January 16, March 19, and May 14, 2020.
The Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council will be comprised of three teachers (one each from the elementary, middle, and high school levels) from each of the school system’s five geographical areas. Meetings of the Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council will be held from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: November 13, 2019, and January 8, March 4, and May 13, 2020. Teachers interested in serving on the advisory council are asked to submit both an application and principal’s recommendation.
