Councilman Marks: final preparations under way for Joppa Road resurfacing

NOTTINGHAM, MD – Baltimore County is preparing for the resurfacing of two miles of Joppa Road

The busy thoroughfare will be repaved from Magledt Road to Belair Road in Carney/Nottingham.

Councilman David Marks said on Saturday night that the final stage before resurfacing is currently underway as BGE completes its work.

Motorists should bear in mind that this will be a significant project that will likely cause some disruptions, but officials say that summer is the time of the year with the least amount of traffic.

“I drive Joppa Road every day,” Councilman Marks said back in April. “I, too, experience the bumpy ride along the corridor, particularly from Walther Boulevard to Belair Road, near Old Harford Road and in Towson. The resurfacing of these areas is a top priority for me.”

In May of 2018, Baltimore County completed water infrastructure improvements along Joppa Road east of Walther Boulevard and BGE completed utility work west of Walther Boulevard.
