FALLSTON, MD – A local chef will be heading to Texas after winning an award at a local food competition.

Mike Fuggitti, the executive chef at Fallston Barrel House, won the burger award at the first-ever Maryland Foodie Fest.

Fuggitti snagged the prize thanks to his jalapeno bacon-wrapped meatloaf burger.

He will now be joining team Restaurant Association of Maryland at the World Food Championships, which will be held in Texas October 16 – 19, 2019.

The festival was held at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen.
