Police are investigating a shooting that took place in Essex on Sunday.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit responded to an area hospital at around 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

The victim, 34, told police that he suffered a minor wound in the upper body from gunfire in the area of Eastern Boulevard at Old Eastern Avenue (21221) at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, February 24, following a confrontation with a group of men.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this shooting.
