Apparent water main break shuts down White Marsh road

Water Main BreakCrews are responding to the scene after a “geyser” of water shut down a White Marsh road on Thursday afternoon.

Residents reported seeing water shooting up from the street in the 5600-block of Gunpowder Road.

Baltimore County officials have confirmed that the road has been shut down.

Officials suspect that a water main break is to blame, although the Department of Public Works has yet to confirm that suspicion.

Motorists should avoid the area.
