The body of a missing man has been recovered in the Essex area.
On Monday, September 4, John G. Martin, of Fallston, was reported missing after he failed to return home. Police were told that the 58-year-old was believed to be in the area of his boat at the Baltimore Yacht Club, in the 800-block of Baltimore Yacht Club Road in Essex.
Baltimore County Police, with assistance from the Maryland Natural Resources Police and the United States Coast Guard, searched for Martin throughout the day on Tuesday.
At 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, police received a call for a body found in the water in the 600-block of Rockaway Beach Avenue in Essex.
The Maryland Natural Resources Police recovered the body from the water and Baltimore County Fire Department personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police positively identified the deceased as John Martin.
Police will continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to Martin being found in the water.
