Police are investigating a double shooting that took place in Essex overnight.

At about 1 a.m., police responded to an incident on Seagate Court in Essex.

Police says that a 19-year-old man answered the door to his residence and was shot in the upper body.  He died from his injuries.

Another victim was shot in the lower body and is expected to survive.

The suspect then fled the scene.
