ANNAPOLIS, MD—Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Monday announced that the state will open applications for a third round of its Build Our Future grant program, a key initiative to boost Maryland’s economy through infrastructure projects. The program, which has $7 million in funding for fiscal year 2026, offers matching grants of up to $2 million.
The grants are aimed at supporting innovative infrastructure that accelerates growth in the state’s strategic technology sectors, including cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, and life sciences.
“When we invest in industries of the future, we grow the economy, attract greater private-sector engagement, and create new, good-paying jobs in every corner of Maryland,” said Gov. Moore.
The program was established by the governor’s Innovation Economy Infrastructure Act of 2023. Since its inception, the grants have distributed $15.9 million, which has spurred $48.7 million in private capital investment and supported 655 new jobs.
The Maryland Department of Commerce administers the program. Past grant recipients have used the funding to develop cybersecurity training centers, wet lab spaces, and advanced manufacturing facilities.
“We look forward to identifying and partnering with a new group of innovative projects working to move Maryland forward,” said Maryland Department of Commerce Secretary Harry Coker, Jr.
Grants are available to private companies, nonprofit entities, local governments, and colleges and universities.
Applications will open on Monday, Aug. 25. An informational webinar for prospective applicants will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. More details, including webinar registration, are available at https://commerce.maryland.gov.
