ELLICOTT CITY, MD—A Parkville man faces multiple charges after allegedly rear-ending a marked Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) patrol vehicle and fleeing the scene in Ellicott City.
According to the Maryland NRP’s summer 2025 summary report, the incident occurred on June 20, when an NRP officer was stopped on Frederick Road at Main Street. A gold Acura sedan rear-ended the patrol vehicle, and the driver initially stopped to assess the damage.
According to the NRP, the officer requested the driver’s license and insurance information. At that point, the driver re-entered his car, made a U-turn, and sped away. A pursuit was attempted but called off.
Investigators reviewed body-worn camera footage of the incident but were unable to identify the vehicle, which had a temporary registration tag. The NRP then issued a public appeal for assistance on social media, including an image of the driver from the camera footage.
Tips from the public led to the identification and location of the driver, a 50-year-old man from Parkville whose name was not included in NRP’s report. He was charged with several offenses, including driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, attempting to elude police, reckless and negligent driving, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
