Two new businesses to hold grand openings in Essex

ESSEX, MD—Two new businesses, both owned by Essex residents, will celebrate their grand openings on Eastern Boulevard this Saturday, thanks to a state program aimed at filling vacant spaces.

The Essex Community Development Corporation announced that The Comfy Cup and Baltimore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies. The projects were made possible through Project Restore 2.0, a Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development initiative.

“We’re thrilled to announce the grand openings of two businesses on Eastern Boulevard,” the Essex CDC said in a statement. “Both owners are proud Essex residents who are bringing new energy, opportunity, and community spirit to our main street.”

The Comfy Cup, located at 25 Eastern Blvd., will kick off the celebrations with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Baltimore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will follow with its ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m. Saturday at 501 Eastern Blvd.
