BALTIMORE, MD—Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs believes the 2025 season is a “make or break year” for the team, saying the city’s expectations are “Super Bowl or bust.”
In an exclusive interview with The Action Network, Suggs, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Ravens, said he fears the team could face significant changes if they fall short of a Super Bowl appearance.
“They’re on the clock, so to say,” Suggs said. “If they don’t make the Super Bowl, I fear the team may go in different directions everywhere.”
Despite the pressure, Suggs expressed confidence in the team’s two biggest offensive stars: two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick “King” Henry. He called it “always good to have a two-time MVP touching the ball on every play” and noted Henry’s durability has exceeded expectations.
However, Suggs believes the Ravens are missing a key piece: a true No. 1 wide receiver. He said tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely “can only do so much.” He suggested that either Rashod Bateman or Zay Flowers would need to step up and become a top receiver.
Suggs also offered some advice for Jackson, who has yet to win a Super Bowl. He compared Jackson’s unconventional style to that of NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson, who faced similar criticism early in his career for his unique style of play.
“He just needs to like having the league bend to his will,” Suggs said. “I would just tell Lamar to be himself, man. You being who you are is what got you two-time MVP.”
Suggs added that he thinks the NFL as a business is “scared of Lamar Jackson, for him to become the face of a league,” suggesting it may have been a factor in Jackson not winning the MVP award last season.
