I-95 shut down due to Harford County crash, deputy injured

UPDATE 3: All lanes have been reopened. The injured deputy has been identified as Lt. Rob Burgess. He was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where the Harford County Sheriff’s office reports he is alert and stable. Anyone with information that may be helpful is asked to contact Det. Phil Golden at [email protected].

UPDATE 2: Police say the crash involved a police pursuit.  The suspect is now in custody.

UPDATE: The Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports that the injured deputy has been transported to Shock Trauma and was alert and conscious.

ABERDEEN, MD—Interstate 95 has been shut down due to a crash in Harford County that left a police deputy injured.

The crash was reported at just after noon on Tuesday, August 26 along I-95 near MD 22 (Exit 85) in Aberdeen.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports that a police deputy was injured in the crash.

I-95 has been shut down in both directions at Exit 85.  Motorists should use an alternate route.
