TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Commission on Disabilities has opened nominations for its 35th annual awards program, which recognizes individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
Nominations are open to the public and will be accepted through Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
The awards program, now in its 35th year, celebrates the achievements of those who are champions for residents with disabilities in Baltimore County.
“We’re proud to highlight the individuals, organizations, and businesses that have been champions for Baltimore County residents with disabilities,” said Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier. “We’re asking everyone to nominate those who are making a difference in their communities so that, together, we can continue to support and celebrate people of all abilities across the county.”
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Student/Teacher of the Year
- Employee/Employer
- Volunteer/Advocate
- Accessibility
The Baltimore County Commission on Disabilities is an advisory panel appointed by the county executive. Its mission is to ensure that all people with disabilities who live and work in the county have the necessary supports, opportunities, and protections to thrive. The commission consists of 20 members, including people with disabilities, professionals in the field, and representatives from government agencies and educational institutions.
The commission holds at least six public meetings annually.
