PIKESVILLE, MD—The Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce has announced a strategic expansion to serve the entire Baltimore County business community, stepping into a role as a county-wide advocate for businesses.
The expansion comes on the heels of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce’s recent closure due to financial challenges and changing business needs after the pandemic. The Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 1977 as the Pikesville Chamber, previously focused its services on northwest Baltimore County, including Pikesville, Owings Mills, and Reisterstown.
“We are well-positioned to amplify a unified voice for businesses,” said Dr. Beth Rheingold, president and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce. “We are honored to serve our broader business community and deliver the same integrity, energy, and hands-on support that our members have come to expect.”
The chamber said it is strengthening its services for new and existing members, including a refreshed website, a new customer-facing platform to promote member businesses, and a growing network of county-wide professionals.
Kimberly Fernandez, chair of the chamber’s board, said the expansion is an opportunity to strengthen economic growth across the county.
“We believe that by connecting businesses across the entire county, we can strengthen economic opportunity, visibility, and growth,” Fernandez said.
The Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce’s office will remain in Pikesville.
