FALLSTON, MD—The Walmart Supercenter in Fallston will host a community back-to-school supply drive on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in support of local schools.
The event, held at the store at 303 Fallston Blvd., will give community members an opportunity to donate school supplies to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. The gathering will also feature a cookout and a Kona Ice truck for attendees.
Staff from the store’s Vision Center and Pharmacy will be available to discuss services that are beneficial for students heading back to school. Volunteers will be on hand to sort and organize the donated supplies.
The event comes on the heels of Maryland’s “Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week,” which concluded Saturday. The state’s sales tax holiday, which ran from Aug. 10 to Aug. 16, exempted state sales tax on qualifying clothing, footwear, and the first portion of backpack purchases.
