TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce has closed its doors.
The chamber announced on August 8 that it would “cease operations indefinitely.”
Membership had reportedly dropped from over 400 members in the 2010s to under 200 members as of 2025.
President & CEO Brent Howard said that the in-person, event-heavy model just wasn’t working in a post-COVID world.
Current Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce members are being directed to other local groups such as the Towson Chamber of Commerce, the Hunt Valley Business Forum, the Perry Hall/White Marsh Business Association, the Northwest Chamber of Commerce, or the Greater Baltimore Chamber in Pikesville.
The full announcement from the Baltimore County Chamber reads as follows:
After careful consideration and extensive evaluation of our organization’s financial position, the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce will cease operations indefinitely, effective August 8, 2025.
