40 Pick 5 tickets with same combination make Maryland resident a millionaire

BALTIMORE, MD—A Maryland Lottery player purchased 40 identical Pick 5 tickets and hit the jackpot for a $1 million prize, the largest win in the state over the past week.

Each of the winning tickets, purchased for 50 cents apiece in Salisbury, featured the same combination of numbers. The player, who has not been identified, redeemed all 40 winning tickets at the Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin.

The tickets were sold at Apple Drugs in Salisbury.

The Maryland Lottery paid out more than $31.1 million in prizes during the week of July 28 through Aug. 3. This total included the $1 million Pick 5 prize and 24 other tickets worth $10,000 or more.

The lottery advises all winners to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them in a safe place. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at any of the state’s six casinos, while prizes greater than that amount must be redeemed by appointment at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore.
