Severe storms expected throughout central Maryland on Thursday, flooding possible

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service says severe storms will likely impact much of central Maryland on Thursday.

Forecasters say showers and strong thunderstorms are expected on Thursday afternoon and evening, primarily between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The metro areas of Baltimore and the District of Columbia will be the focus for possible flash flooding.

A Flood Watch is in effect until 2 a.m. on Friday.

Cooler temperatures are expected behind today’s front, with high temperatures in the upper-70s to on tap for this weekend.
