Retired Dundalk resident wins $40,000 playing Keno in Rosedale

ROSEDALE, MD—A retired Dundalk resident has won $40,000 playing Maryland Lottery Keno, marking his second significant win on the game in just over a year. The loyal player claimed his prize Wednesday at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The man, whose name was not released by the lottery, previously won $50,036 on Keno in July 2024 and has also secured several prizes in the $20,000 range.

“I play almost every day. It’s a lot of fun. It’s something to do,” he said.

The retired police officer explained that he chooses numbers with personal significance. For his latest win, he played numbers associated with a group of friends from a deer hunting club.

When asked about his plans for the winnings, he quipped, “I’ve got four kids. They know I’m here,” but added that he might consider buying a new car.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Shell gas station located at 7514 Pulaski Highway in Rosedale.
