BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Thursday in the Baltimore area.
The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on July 17th.
Forecasters say heat index values of around 105 degrees are expected.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
