WHITE MARSH, MD—The White Marsh Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library is set to reopen its doors to the public on Monday, July 14, at 9 a.m., following a months-long renovation project designed to modernize the facility and enhance community spaces.
Located at 8133 Sandpiper Circle, the revamped branch is part of the library system’s strategic plan to create and renovate buildings that meet the demands of the 21st century. The upgrades aim to provide improved gathering spaces for community groups and families, as well as a more inclusive environment with the addition of new adult changing stations in the restrooms.
“We are thrilled to reopen the White Marsh Branch and share with our community the renovations to the restrooms, meeting room and children’s area,” said Sonia Alcántara-Antoine, CEO of Baltimore County Public Library. “These updates follow our strategic goal of maintaining modern libraries where our customers can explore, learn, create and connect. I am proud that we can reopen the branch earlier than anticipated so that our customers in this community can get back to the services and resources they so enjoy.”
The comprehensive renovation project includes:
- A new, more open entrance to the meeting room after the removal of an existing hallway wall.
- An updated meeting room featuring new flooring, lighting, and paint.
- State-of-the-art audio-visual equipment installed in the meeting room.
- Renovated restroom facilities, including a family restroom and an adult changing station.
- An enhanced children’s section with interactive play elements, tables, and seating specifically designed for early childhood and tweens.
The Baltimore County Public Library highlighted that these renovations are crucial for fostering modern library experiences, ensuring that the White Marsh Branch continues to serve as a vital community hub for learning, connection, and engagement.
