Heat Advisory issued for Tuesday in several Maryland counties

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday in several Maryland counties.

The advisory will be in effect from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on July 8, 2025 and includes Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County, Cecil County, southeast Harford County, Baltimore City, southern Baltimore County, Calvert County, Charles County, and St. Mary’s County.

Heat index values of up to 105 degrees are expected, up to 107 degrees closer to the Chesapeake Bay.

Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
