Baltimore to light up Fourth of July with dual celebrations at Inner Harbor, Middle Branch Park

BALTIMORE, MD—Baltimore is set to host a dual Fourth of July celebration on Friday, featuring traditional fireworks at the Inner Harbor and, for the first time, an innovative drone show in Cherry Hill.

Mayor Brandon M. Scott announced the festivities, which also include live music, street activations, and extended hours for the Pratt Street Market, promising “fun for the whole family.”

“Not only are we going to have fireworks at the Inner Harbor, but for the first time, we’ll have a drone show in Cherry Hill,” Scott said in a statement.

The Inner Harbor celebration will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore will host the Pratt Street Market from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering various local food vendors. Live entertainment from DJs Que the Q and Neil Nines will lead up to the fireworks display, scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. The fireworks barge will be positioned between Point Park and Domino Sugar, offering prime views from the Inner Harbor and Federal Hill. Mayor Scott is expected to make his traditional arrival by kayak and deliver remarks.

At Middle Branch Park, the ninth annual Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. The free festival will feature arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, historical reenactments, and live performances, including a set by co-director Navasha Daya.

This year marks the festival’s inaugural drone show, sponsored by Mayor Scott and developed in collaboration with youth organizers from the Youth Resiliency Institute. The aerial display is set to launch at 9:30 p.m., after the Inner Harbor fireworks conclude.

“The theme of this year’s festival is, ‘It’s Still About Freedom,’ which holds special significance, particularly since Baltimore is a city steeped in Black history and the legacy of its freedom fighters,” Daya said.

For those seeking a different experience with a prime view of the fireworks, Baltimore City Recreation & Parks is partnering with Rhythm & Reels for a Silent Disco at Point Park. From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., attendees can dance to music from three live DJs via headphones. Admission is $10.
