Flood Watch issued for Baltimore area as storms likely to develop

BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Baltimore area.

The watch will be in effect until 11 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Forecasters say thunderstorms are expected to develop in the next few hours across parts of the Baltimore and Washington metro areas.

Storms are expected to be slow movers and be capable of producing intense rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, which may result in flash flooding of small streams, creeks, urban and poor drainage areas.

Residents should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
