BALTIMORE, MD—As the heat wave settles into central Maryland, the National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Monday and an Extreme Heat Watch for Tuesday.
The Extreme Heat Warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on June 23, 2025. The Extreme Heat Watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of around 110 degrees are expected. For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of around 110 degrees are possible.
Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
