BALTIMORE, MD—Scorching temperatures are expected in central Maryland early next week and the National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for the area.
The watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025 and covers Anne Arundel County, Carroll County, Charles County, Frederick County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, Howard County, Montgomery County, and Prince George’s County. Further west, a Heat Advisory will be in effect
Dangerously hot conditions are expected with heat index values of up to 111 degrees possible. There isn’t much relief in sight as high temperatures will remain in the 90s with triple-digit heat indices throughout the work week, as can be seen in the graphic below.
Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Officials are reminding residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
