BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of central Maryland.
The watch will remain in effect until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 and includes Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Calvert County, Caroline County, Carroll County, Cecil County, Charles County, Dorchester County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County, Kent County, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Queen Anne’s County, St. Mary’s County, and Talbot County.
A Flood Watch is also in effect for much of central Maryland as severe storms are expected to develop during the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday.
These storms could produce rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, and some localized areas could see 3 inches of rain per hour.
The storms may produce wind gusts of up to 70 mph, quarter-sized hail, and frequent lightning. Residents should remain weather-aware throughout the afternoon and evening hours.
