The watch will remain in effect until 8 p.m. on July 18, 2025 and includes Anne Arundel County, Carroll County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Charles County, Frederick County, Baltimore County, Harford County, and Prince George’s County.

Forecasters say showers and thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall with amounts of around 1 to 2 inches per hour.  Localized amounts up to 3 inches are possible in the strongest storms.

These heavy amounts of rain in a short period of time may lead to rapid rises of creeks and streams out of their banks as well as potential flash flooding in urban areas.

Residents should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
