BALTIMORE, MD—It’s been a cool, damp spring in the Mid-Atlantic, but that will all change next week as summer gets under way.
The high temperature in and around Baltimore on Monday will only be in the upper 60s and low 70s, but one week from now, it could be about 25 degrees warmer.
The summer solstice will occur on Friday, June 20, 2025 and the strongest heatwave of the season thus far is likely for much of the Mid-Atlantic during the first week of summer. Affected cities include Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Richmond, and Raleigh, according to the National Weather Service.
The risk for extreme heat stretches from Monday, June 23rd to Thursday, June 26th. Sunday’s high is expected to be around 94 degrees and the heat should continue and/or increase from there.
