Baltimore County Police Department to host Special Olympics Torch Run, unveil INFO Center

TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department is set to host two significant events next week: its annual Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting Special Olympics Maryland and the unveiling of a new Information Nexus for Operations (INFO) Center. Both events are scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, at police headquarters in Towson.

The 39th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run will kick off at 9:30 a.m., with police officers and Special Olympics Maryland athletes participating in a 5K route in front of the Public Safety Building at 700 East Joppa Road. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for more than 4,340 Special Olympics athletes. Baltimore County Police Chief Robert O. McCullough is expected to attend, along with department members and Special Olympics Maryland representatives.

Immediately following the Torch Run, at 11 a.m., the department will officially unveil its new INFO Center. This centralized facility is designed to provide real-time information and analysis, supporting police operations by leveraging technology to research, correlate, analyze, and disseminate critical intelligence to officers in the field.

Expected attendees for the INFO Center unveiling include Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier, Chief McCullough, local elected officials, and members of the BCoPD INFO Center staff.
