WASHINGTON, DC—More than 1.1 million Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks are being recalled due to concerns that their lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall Thursday, June 12, 2025, affecting approximately 1,158,000 units of the Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank, specifically model A1263.
Anker has received 19 reports of fires and explosions linked to the power banks. This includes two reports of minor burn injuries that did not require medical attention, and 11 reports of property damage totaling more than $60,700.
The affected power banks have “Anker” engraved on the front, and the model number “A1263” along with a serial number “SN” printed on the bottom. Only model A1263 power banks sold in the U.S. with qualifying serial numbers are part of the recall. Consumers can verify their serial number at www.anker.com/product-recalls.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks and contact Anker Innovations for instructions on receiving a free replacement. To register for the recall and receive a replacement, consumers must visit www.anker.com/product-recalls. They will be required to submit a photo of their recalled power bank showing the model number, serial number, their name, the date of the photograph, and the word “recalled” written on the device in permanent marker. While a purchase receipt will be requested, it is not required for participation. Consumers must also confirm proper disposal of the power bank in accordance with applicable laws and regulations before receiving a replacement.
The CPSC advises that recalled lithium-ion batteries should not be disposed of in regular trash, general recycling streams, or used battery recycling boxes due to a greater risk of fire. Consumers should contact their municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center to inquire about accepting recalled lithium-ion batteries.
The recalled power banks were sold online at Anker, Amazon, Newegg, and Ebay from June 2016 through December 2022 for approximately $27.
Consumers can contact Anker toll-free at 800-988-7973 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, email at [email protected], or use the Live Chat function at https://support.anker.com/s/contact-us.
