BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland’s sports wagering market had its fifth-best single-month performance in May 2025, generating $7,746,363 in contributions to the state.
Through the first 11 months of FY2025 (July 2024 through May 2025), sports wagering has contributed $79,696,891 to the state compared to $54,582,952 for the same period in FY2024. The state’s share of sports wagering proceeds is directed to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports public education programs.
Sports bettors in Maryland wagered $504,448,190 during May 2025 and won back $438,138,277 in prizes. Sportsbook operators held 13.1% of the handle. Operators paid 15% of their taxable proceeds to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund. The state had 11 mobile sports wagering platforms and 12 retail sportsbook locations that operated during May.
